A massive specimen composed of more than ten botryoidal aggregates of fluorite in a saturated violet hue. Large rounded formations coalesce into a single mass of rock.
The entire surface is covered with small pyrite crystals. Golden, faceted grains form a dense layer between the fluorite flows and emphasize the depth of the violet colour.
This specimen approaches half a metre in its greatest dimension and weighs about twenty-seven kilograms. For Yiwu in Zhejiang Province, this is a characteristic type of fluorite–pyrite mineralization, though monoliths of such size are uncommon.
