Complete skeletons for collections

A complete skeleton is chosen when a collection or a large interior needs its main exhibit. RELICTUM has dinosaurs, ichthyosaurs and members of the mammoth fauna. We will help you match the scale of the piece to the room and plan its placement in advance.

FAQ

Whose skeletons can you buy?

Skeletons in this section: 8 — dinosaurs; Ice Age animals — mammoth, cave bear, woolly rhinoceros, steppe bison, wolf; marine reptiles and snakes.

How much does a skeleton cost?

Prices from 1 500 000 ₽ to 12 500 000 ₽. Small reptile skeletons on a slab cost less; full-size skeletons of large animals are the most expensive.

How much space does a skeleton need?

The dimensions of each skeleton are given on its lot page. A large exhibit needs to be approachable from at least two sides and lit separately; a manager will help assess the space from a floor plan or photos of the room.

How are skeletons delivered and installed?

Skeletons are transported in specialised crates, and installation is carried out by RELICTUM or its contractor. RELICTUM covers transit insurance.

About this selection

How to choose

Complete skeletons for a collection are chosen starting from the hall, not the catalogue. You need the wall length, the ceiling height and at least a few metres of approach, otherwise the silhouette loses its impact. Ask about the share of original bone and the design of the armature: a good mount holds the pose and lets you walk all the way round. Consider the floor and the possible point load from the steel frame. Light is usually placed above and slightly to the side so that the shadows gather the ribs and spine. Once the room's parameters are clear, it is easier to choose a dinosaur or mammoth fauna skeleton that fits the space without crowding it.
