About this selection

How to choose

Mammoth fauna works well in interiors thanks to its scale and recognisable forms. A mammoth tusk is judged by its length, curve, colour and surface condition: an even warm tone and a moderate amount of cracking look calmer. A large tusk needs a stand with two points of support and a diagonal position so that its line reads in full. A mammoth skull, a cave bear or a woolly rhinoceros horn is more compact and looks natural in a study. If you plan to place a mammoth tusk in a room with dry air, ask how the tusk has been stabilised and how to care for it.
